Lebanon Embassy Attestation in Dubai

Lebanon embassy attestation is the consular stamp that makes a UAE-issued document valid before Lebanese authorities, and it can only be added once the document already carries the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) attestation. We take care of the whole chain for you: we prepare the document, attest it at MOFA, submit it to the Consulate General of Lebanon in Dubai or the Embassy of Lebanon in Abu Dhabi, depending on jurisdiction, and return it to you or ship it to Lebanon.

How Does Lebanon Embassy Attestation Work?

The Consulate General of Lebanon in Dubai attests documents in two cases only, as stated on its official Certificates and Attestations page:

  • Documents issued in the UAE and already attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is what this page covers.
  • Documents issued in Lebanon and already attested by the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants.

In practice, the consulate will not look at a UAE document that has not been through UAE MOFA first, whatever its type or issuer. That is why Lebanon embassy attestation really starts one or two steps before the consulate, and the original is then submitted together with one copy. We complete MOFA attestation in Dubai within one working day for documents that were e-attested by their issuing authority.

Documents We Attest at the Lebanese Consulate in Dubai

The consulate’s fee table classifies UAE documents by the subject of the transaction. The documents we handle for Lebanon embassy attestation fall into three main groups:

1. Personal Status and Education Documents

  • Personal status: birth and death certificates, marriage contracts and certificates, divorce deeds and rulings.
  • Education: school and university certificates, letters and transcripts.
  • Employment and record letters: salary and experience certificates, employment letters, police certificates, medical reports and driving licence certificates.
  • Copies and translations: certified true copies of passports and legal translations of documents.

2. Legal Instruments

  • General and special powers of attorney, and revocations of powers of attorney.
  • Declarations, undertakings and waivers.
  • Court judgments, wills and employment contracts.

3. Commercial Documents

  • Certificates of origin and commercial invoices for goods exported to Lebanon.
  • Company documents such as memoranda of association and partner or manager resolutions.
  • Other commercial transactions between a UAE party and a Lebanese counterparty.

Each subject carries its own fee, and some add a percentage of the amount stated in the document, so we confirm the exact classification of your transaction before we submit it.

Lebanese Consulate in Dubai or Lebanese Embassy in Abu Dhabi?

For Lebanon embassy attestation, the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Lebanon in Dubai covers Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Events that take place in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra fall under the Embassy of Lebanon in Abu Dhabi, as the consulate’s Civil Status page explains.

The consulate is located in Umm Hurair 1, Street 3, Bur Dubai. It receives applications in the morning and hands documents back in a shorter afternoon window. In summer 2026 the consulate suspended most transactions for maintenance and referred them to the embassy in Abu Dhabi, then announced that all services resumed on 4 September 2026. Tracking changes like these is part of what we do for you on every Lebanon embassy attestation file, so your document goes to the competent mission that is actually open on the day of submission.

Lebanese Consulate Attestation Fees in Dubai

The consulate does not charge one flat fee for every document. It charges for attesting the UAE MOFA stamp according to the subject of the transaction, as shown in the table on its website. A birth certificate is charged differently from a marriage contract or a general power of attorney, and some transactions add a percentage of the amount stated in them to a fixed fee, such as general powers of attorney, divorce documents, certificates of origin and company documents. Certificates of origin also have a minimum and a maximum fee. Powers of attorney drawn up at the consulate itself are charged per signature.

The consulate asks for the exact amount in cash or payment by card, and the UAE MOFA fee and any translation fee come on top. We give you the total cost of your Lebanon embassy attestation transaction before we start, so there are no surprises later.

Power of Attorney for Use in Lebanon: Consulate or UAE Notary?

The consulate accepts power of attorney applications only from Lebanese nationals and from Palestinians holding a Lebanese travel document who reside in the UAE, according to its Power of Attorney page. Foreign nationals, and anyone without a Lebanese travel document, must sign the power of attorney before a notary public in the UAE, have it attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and then have it attested by the Lebanese Consulate in Dubai.

Lebanese citizens can choose either route. A power of attorney drawn up at the consulate requires personal attendance, a valid passport or Lebanese ID, a copy of the agent’s ID, and a medical report if the principal is seventy or older, plus documents that depend on the type, such as the title deed for property, vehicle details for a car, or the bank name and account number for a banking power of attorney. For a power of attorney signed before a notary public in Dubai, we draft it, notarise it and attest it all the way to the consulate stamp. This is the only route open to non-Lebanese principals who own property or have interests in Lebanon.

Registering a Lebanese Child Born in the UAE

A Lebanese child born in Dubai or the Northern Emirates is registered through the consulate free of charge. The consulate asks for the original local birth certificate attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs with one copy, both parents’ passports, a family civil extract with two copies, the parents’ Lebanese marriage certificate duly registered and attested, and a live birth report in the case of twins.

The consulate then sends the file by diplomatic pouch to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in Beirut, which forwards it to the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities for entry in the civil registry, and the applicant follows up in Lebanon. If travel to Lebanon is urgent, the child can be issued a laissez-passer valid for one year within four working days, with both parents present. Our part in this file is to get the birth certificate attested by UAE MOFA quickly, because the whole application depends on it.

Registering a Marriage or Divorce Concluded in the UAE

A marriage concluded in Dubai or the Northern Emirates is registered in Lebanon through the consulate as well, and the same applies to divorce. Registering a marriage requires the original local marriage certificate duly attested, a recent individual civil extract for each spouse, and both passports. If one spouse is not Lebanese, their birth certificate is required, with an official Arabic translation if it is not issued in English or French, and a Syrian spouse submits a Syrian civil extract instead.

Marriage certificates issued by Dubai Courts are e-attested, so we take them straight to MOFA. You can follow the full route in our guide to marriage certificate attestation in the UAE. We also provide legal translation in Dubai for the foreign spouse’s birth certificate when it is needed.

Education Certificates: Attestation Is Not Equivalence in Lebanon

Lebanon embassy attestation of a UAE university or school certificate confirms the stamps that came before it. It does not make the certificate equivalent in Lebanon. If you need it to continue your studies, join a professional order or practise a regulated profession, the Lebanese authority may ask for an equivalence from the Equivalence Committee at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, which has its own conditions and documents. That is why we ask, before we begin, which authority will receive the certificate, so that the right attestations are in place before anything is requested after arrival.

Depending on its type and issuer, a UAE certificate may also need attestation by the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Higher Education before MOFA. Our page on certificate attestation in Dubai explains this in detail.

Does an Apostille Replace Lebanon Embassy Attestation?

No. Lebanon and the UAE are both outside the Hague Apostille Convention, and neither appears in the status table of the Convention published by the Hague Conference on Private International Law, last updated on 30 June 2026. A UAE document going to Lebanon therefore follows the full consular legalisation route. To understand the difference between the two, read our guide to apostille attestation.

Attesting Lebanese Documents for Use in the UAE

If the document was issued in Lebanon and a UAE authority needs it, such as a university degree for a work permit or a marriage certificate for family sponsorship, the route is the reverse of Lebanon embassy attestation: the competent Lebanese authority, then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in Beirut, then the UAE Embassy in Lebanon, then the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We coordinate this chain from Dubai, and it usually takes up to five working days.

The Lebanese Consulate in Dubai also attests documents issued in Lebanon once the Lebanese foreign ministry has attested them, but this does not replace attestation by the UAE Embassy in Lebanon and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs when the receiving authority is in the UAE. You can find every destination we serve on our document legalization services page.
